At Decatur Counseling Center, we provide professional Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) services for employees who must meet U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Return-to-Duty (RTD) requirements after a drug or alcohol violation.
As a qualified SAP, Pamela Burkhart, LCSW, ensures that every individual receives the guidance, support, and federal compliance oversight required under 49 CFR Part 40 to safely resume safety-sensitive duties.
Our SAP services include:
- Initial SAP Assessment
A comprehensive clinical evaluation to determine the appropriate level of education and/or treatment. - Referral to Education or Treatment Providers
Personalized recommendations to address substance misuse concerns and support well-being. - Case Coordination
Communication with treatment providers and monitoring of progress throughout the process. - Follow-Up Evaluation
A clinical review to confirm successful completion of all recommendations. - Return-to-Duty Reporting
Official SAP documentation to employers and reporting to the DOT Clearinghouse when required. - Follow-Up Testing Plan
A customized schedule for ongoing testing to maintain compliance and ensure workplace safety.
